The idea behind this style of mouthpiece is that the mouthpiece is a series of large bobbles conected by large links. It is very moveable and as the horse reaches into the mouthpiece with its tongue the mouthpiece moves so there is nothing for the horse to really lean into plus the mouthpiece feels uneven this should make the horse lighten its feel on the bit and therefore lighten in the bridle. The copper rollers encourage salivation.
