Their Venice range uses a magnetic mechanism in the outer branch; under the sudden pressure of a fall it opens to free your foot, then snaps back into its normal riding position on its own. 

That self-resetting behavior is the main thing that sets Tech Stirrups apart from safety stirrups that need resetting by hand after every release. The stirrups are made from anodized aluminum, which keeps them light without sacrificing strength, and the tread is shaped to shed mud and water so grip stays consistent in wet conditions.
