The Trust Sweet Iron Beval Jointed features a beval cheekpiece with two connected half rings, offering more control than standard rings. The cheekpiece is attached to the upper half ring, and the reins can be connected to the large ring for downward pressure or to the lower half ring for mild leverage and better responsiveness.

The single-jointed mouthpiece has one hinge point and primarily acts on the bars, the sides of the tongue, and can also affect the palate. This mouthpiece is considered a standard option, applying less pressure to the tongue than a double-jointed mouthpiece. The diameter of the bit is 16 mm.

Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a distinctive blue color. Upon contact with air humidity, the bit develops surface rust that tastes mildly sweet and stimulates salivation, helping the horse accept the bit more easily. Over time, this rust process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the bit to brown-grey.
