Bremsen Bremse Fly Spray: Horsefly and Fly Repellent for Horses | Emmers Equestrian

Horseflies (Bremsen in German) are some of the most persistent insects of the summer, and a horse that is constantly pestered is harder to ride, to groom, and to keep relaxed in the yard. Bremsen Bremse is a German brand that specializes in insect repellents for horses.

Bremsen Bremse Flyspray Classic

This is a repellent spray for biting insects, listed for daily use on horses on rides, in the stable, and in the pasture. According to the manufacturer, it protects against horseflies, flies, ticks, and mosquitoes, and its active substances are IR3535 and geraniol. It has a woody scent from essential oils. The 750 ml bottle suits a busy yard or a season of regular use.

The manufacturer's guideline is about 40 ml for a pony and up to 90 ml for a large horse, which works out at roughly eight applications for a large horse. For the best protection, combine fly spray with other measures.
