Riding jackets for women, men and kids
A good riding jacket keeps you warm without getting in the way of your riding. Our collection covers every season: winter riding jackets with down or padded insulation, quilted jackets for in-between days, softshell jackets for training and parkas for long days at the yard. You will find equestrian jackets from Samshield, Cavalleria Toscana, Equiline, Pikeur, Kingsland, Aztec Diamond, Vestrum and Trolle Projects, alongside outerwear from Parajumpers, Barbour and Dubarry.
Winter riding jackets: down, padded and quilted
For cold mornings and long show days, choose a down or padded winter riding jacket. Down gives the most warmth for its weight. Synthetic padding stays warm when damp and is easier to wash, which makes it practical for daily yard work. A quilted jacket is lighter and works well in autumn and spring or as a layer under a coat.
Softshell riding jackets for training
A softshell riding jacket is wind-resistant, stretchy and breathable, so it moves with you during flatwork, jumping and lessons. It is the jacket most riders wear from early autumn until the first frost, and again as soon as the worst of winter is over.
Parkas and jackets for the yard and beyond
Longer parkas and insulated coats keep your hips and thighs warm while you teach, groom or watch from the side of the arena. Many of these jackets look as good in town as they do at the stable, so you get more wear out of one coat.
Women's, men's and kids' riding jackets
The collection includes women's riding jackets from EU 34 to 46, men's jackets from size 46 to 54 and S to XXXL, and kids' jackets from size 110 to 170. Use the gender and size filters to see what is in stock for you.
What to look for in a horse riding jacket
- Freedom in the shoulders: you should be able to reach forward to the reins without the back pulling tight.
- A two-way zip or side vents: they let the jacket sit over the saddle instead of riding up.
- Sleeve length: check it with your arms forward, not at your sides.
- Wind and water resistance: most riding jackets shrug off wind and a light shower; for steady rain you need rainwear.
- Pockets that close: zipped pockets keep your phone and keys in place at a canter.
- A hood you can remove: useful on the yard, out of the way in the saddle.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a riding jacket and a show jacket?
A riding jacket is everyday outerwear for training, hacking and yard work. A show jacket is the tailored competition jacket you wear in the ring. This collection contains riding jackets; competition styles are in our show jackets collection.
What is the best jacket for horse riding in winter?
Choose an insulated winter riding jacket with down or synthetic padding, a wind-resistant outer fabric and a two-way zip so it sits well in the saddle. For active riding a shorter padded jacket is enough. If you stand still a lot, a longer parka keeps your thighs warm too.
Should I choose a softshell or a padded riding jacket?
A softshell jacket suits active riding in cool, dry weather, because it breathes and stretches. A padded jacket is warmer and better for cold days, slow hacks and yard work. Many riders own one of each and switch around the first frost.
Can I go horse riding in a normal jacket?
You can, but a jacket made for riding is more comfortable. It has more room across the shoulders, a two-way zip or vents so it does not bunch up on the saddle, and sleeves cut for arms held forward. Long or loose coats can catch on the saddle.
Are riding jackets waterproof?
Most riding jackets are wind-resistant and water-repellent, which handles a light shower. Only jackets with a waterproof membrane and sealed seams keep you dry in steady rain. For those, see our rainwear collection.
How should a riding jacket fit?
Close enough that it does not flap, with room for a base layer and a thin sweater underneath. Test it in a riding position: reach both arms forward and check that the sleeves still cover your wrists and the back does not pull.
Is down or synthetic padding better for the yard?
Down is warmer for its weight and packs small, but it loses warmth when wet and needs careful washing. Synthetic padding keeps insulating when damp and copes better with frequent washing. For daily mucking out, synthetic is the practical choice; for cold, dry show days, down is hard to beat.
Can I wear a riding jacket over an airbag vest?
Only if the jacket leaves enough room for the vest to inflate fully. Follow the instructions of your airbag manufacturer, which specify how much extra space an outer layer needs. Some jackets are designed to be airbag-compatible; the product page says so.
How do I wash a down or padded riding jacket?
Close the zips and wash on a gentle cycle at low temperature, without fabric softener. Use a down detergent for down jackets and tumble dry on low with dryer balls until the filling is completely dry. Always check the care label first.
Do you sell riding jackets for men and children?
Yes. The collection includes men's riding jackets up to XXXL and size 54, and kids' jackets for boys and girls from size 110 to 170. Use the gender filter to see them.
How fast is delivery, and can I return a jacket?
We ship worldwide. Orders to Belgium and the Netherlands usually arrive 1–2 business days after dispatch. Returns are possible within 14 calendar days through our return portal.
