Compositi Stirrups & Boots | Emmers Equestrian

Emmers Equestrian stocks Compositi, with products for both you and your horse. For the rider, Compositi stirrups swap steel for high-quality polymer: lighter on your leg, naturally shock-absorbing, and built with a wide, non-slip footbed for better balance in the saddle. Our range runs from the entry-level Profile through the more cushioned Premium to the top-of-range Reflex, so there's a composite option whether you're kitting out a lesson horse or upgrading your own tack.

For the horse, we stock Compositi tendon boots and fetlock boots. There are also two genuinely useful add-ons: the safety stopper and replaceable stirrup inserts. For your horse's boots, choose the style that matches the leg you want to protect and the way you ride.

Tips for Choosing

  • New to composite stirrups or buying for a lesson horse? The Profile is an affordable way in. Premium adds extra cushioning, and Reflex is the most refined of the three.
  • The wide, textured footbed already reduces slipping, but the separate safety stopper adds an extra margin for a younger or less experienced rider.
  • Tread worn down after heavy use? The stirrup inserts are replaceable, so you can renew the grip or switch up the color without buying new stirrups.
  • Match the stirrup width to your boot sole. Too narrow can pinch, and too wide undercuts the stability the wide footbed is designed to give.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy Compositi stirrups?

Emmers Equestrian stocks Compositi stirrups, tendon boots, fetlock boots, the safety stopper and stirrup inserts. Check the product pages for the current models, colours and sizes.

Are composite stirrups better than metal stirrups?

They are lighter, absorb more shock through the leg, and have a non-slip footbed, without the polishing and rust of steel. Whether they feel better is personal, so choose the model that suits your cushioning needs.

Are Compositi stirrups safety stirrups?

No. The Profile, Premium and Reflex models are fixed, wide-platform designs and not breakaway safety stirrups. If a quick-release mechanism is your priority, choose a dedicated safety stirrup. The separate safety stopper is an add-on for extra security.

What is the difference between Compositi Profile, Premium, and Reflex?

Profile is the entry point, Premium adds more cushioning and a refined footbed, and Reflex sits at the top of the range for the most shock absorption and stability.

Can I replace the tread on Compositi stirrups?

Yes. The stirrup inserts are sold separately, so you can refresh grip or change colour without replacing the whole stirrup.

What is the difference between tendon boots and fetlock boots?

Tendon boots are designed to protect the tendons at the back of the legs, and fetlock boots protect the fetlock joint from knocks. Which you need depends on your horse and the work you do, so check the product details and ask your trainer or vet if you are unsure.
