The Trust Sweet Iron Beval Eliptical features a beval cheekpiece with two connected half rings, offering more control than standard rings. The cheekpiece is attached to the upper half ring, and the reins can be connected to the large ring for downward pressure or to the lower half ring for mild leverage. This design allows for flexibility in the amount of pressure applied.

The double-jointed mouthpiece has two hinge points and sits slightly looser in the mouth, applying more pressure to the tongue and bars. This bit is not recommended for horses with narrow lower jaws, as the hinge points may press on the bars, causing discomfort. The diameter of the bit is 16 mm.

Sweet Iron bits are made from steel and have a distinctive blue color. Upon contact with air humidity, the bit develops surface rust that tastes mildly sweet and stimulates salivation, which helps the horse accept the bit more easily. Over time, this rust process (oxidation) turns the blue color of the bit into brown-grey.
