The cheekpiece is connected to the upper half ring, and the reins can be attached to the large ring for downward pressure or to the lower half ring for mild leverage and better responsiveness. The loose rings enhance mobility in the mouth, promoting better acceptance of the bit.

The mouthpiece with rings is a variant of the double-jointed bit. The rings in the middle encourage the horse to play with the bit, increasing tongue activity. This promotes salivation and helps relax the jaw, making it easier for the horse to release the bit. The diameter of the bit is 16 mm.

Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a distinctive blue color. Upon contact with air humidity, the bit develops surface rust that tastes mildly sweet and naturally stimulates salivation, helping the horse accept the bit more easily. Over time, this rust process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the bit to brown-grey.
