The Trust Sweet Iron Swivel Eliptical features a beval cheekpiece with two connected half rings, offering more control than standard rings. The mouthpiece is fixed between the half rings, limiting its movement and providing more stability in the horse’s mouth. The reins can be attached to the large ring for downward pressure or to the lower half ring for mild leverage and better responsiveness.

The double-jointed mouthpiece has two hinge points and sits slightly looser in the mouth, applying more pressure to the tongue, bars, and corners. This bit is not suitable for horses with narrow lower jaws, as the hinge points may press on the bars, causing discomfort. The diameter of the bit is 16 mm.

Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a distinctive blue color. Upon contact with air humidity, the bit develops surface rust that tastes mildly sweet and naturally stimulates salivation, helping the horse accept the bit more easily. Over time, this rust process (oxidation) turns the blue color of the bit to brown-grey.
