The Trust Sweet Iron Hanging Cheek Waterford is a baucher-style bit with a mild leverage effect. The small rings above the main cheek rings are used to attach the cheek pieces, providing extra stability and gentle leverage in the horse’s mouth.

The Waterford mouthpiece consists of multiple rounded links, making it highly flexible. It adapts to the shape of the horse’s mouth and distributes pressure evenly. Because of its mobility, the horse cannot easily lean on or grab the bit, allowing the rider to maintain better control. This bit is not suitable for inexperienced riders. In soft hands, it is gentle, but with strong rein use, it can become sharp. The diameter of the bit is 16 mm.

Sweet Iron bits are made of blue steel that forms surface rust when exposed to air humidity. This rust has a mildly sweet taste and naturally stimulates salivation, helping the horse accept the bit more easily. Over time, the blue color fades to brown-grey due to oxidation.
