Who is Van Olst Horses?
Van Olst Horses is a professional equestrian company, founded by Gertjan and Anne van Olst, operating internationally in modern show jumping, dressage, and breeding. Their mission is: “To strive for the highest possible quality in everything we do.” The Van Olst Horses system has been developed over the years based on their own experience and philosophy, integrating stallion management, young horse development, sport, and sales in a complementary way.
Since 1983, Van Olst Horses has been active in the international equestrian world. With approved stallions like Animo and Zalmeco, the company quickly made a name for itself. Gertjan initially focused mainly on show jumping, but this shifted thanks to his wife, Anne van Olst. Originally from Denmark, Anne represented the Danish dressage team no fewer than five times at the Olympic Games. Together, Gertjan and Anne form a true power couple in the world of dressage.
Although they were awarded the title of ‘Equestrian Entrepreneur of the Year’ in 2013, their ambition and success continue to this day. An outstanding example is Lottie Fry, a world champion and a key member of the Van Olst Horses team. Her exceptional riding skills and dedication to the sport are a true inspiration to riders around the globe. More recently, Van Olst Horses has achieved significant success in the field of breeding. In the 2024 KWPN Spring Stallion Performance Test, no fewer than six Van Olst stallions were approved. In addition, their stallion Everdale was awarded the prestigious ‘Keur’ predicate by KWPN in February 2024.
