Frequently asked questions
What is Jump’In known for?
Jump’In focuses on equipment for show jumping, with a wide choice of leverage bits, special mouthpieces, and bitless options designed to give riders precise control while keeping the horse comfortable.
What is a flat mouthpiece?
Several Jump’In bits have a flat or thin flat bar instead of a round one. A flat mouthpiece sits differently on the tongue and gives a more defined feel, which some horses respond to with more attention and lightness. Thin versions have a sharper action, so they’re best used by experienced riders with a light hand.
Why choose a leather or foam-covered bit?
A leather or foam covering makes the mouthpiece softer and warmer, which suits horses that are sensitive to metal or that tense up against a hard bit. Check the covering regularly and replace the bit once it shows wear.
Are Jump’In bits allowed in competition?
Most Jump’In bits are intended for show jumping, where pelhams, gags, and hackamores are generally permitted. Many of them are not allowed in dressage. Rules vary between federations and classes, so always check before you compete.
